1. This coffee is very hot, but I can still drink it.

5. A: This cake is very sweet, but it’s nice. B: No, I think it’s too sweet.
6. A marathon is very long. Charles is too old to run it, but William is young enough.
7. The suit was too expensive so he bought a shirt instead.
8. It’s very cold outside right now but tomorrow it will be too cold to go outside at all.
9. There are too many students for this class. The classroom is too small, and there aren’t enough desks.
10. They were very poor. They didn’t have enough food to eat.

B) Answer the following questions using VERY, TOO or ENOUGH.

1. Why don’t you eat fast food three times a day?
Because it is too unhealthy.

2. What is the weather like in Antarctica?
The weather in Antarctica is very cold. It is too cold for most plants and animals to live.

3. Why don’t you buy a mansion in Hollywood?
Because they are too expensive. I don’t have enough money.

4. Why can’t a child drive a car?
Because they are not capable or responsible enough to drive.

5. What are some good things about your city?
It’s not too hot or too cold. The temperature is warm enough.

6. What are some drawbacks about living in your city?
There are too many people in my city and it is very crowded. It can be very polluted in winter.

C) Rewrite the sentences, using either VERY, TOO or ENOUGH.

1. I’ve had so much to eat today that I couldn’t eat another bite.
I’ve had enough to eat

2. I can’t see anything, turn on the light.
It’s too dark, turn on the light.

3. This room is hot. Maybe we should open a window.
It’s too hot. Maybe we should open a window.

4. That movie was so sad. I almost cried.
That movie was very sad and I almost cried.

5. This curry is so spicy. I can’t eat it.
I can’t eat this curry because it’s too spicy.
